HUNGRY CREATURES
By Kotryna Gesait
Hungry Creatures is a play about the way experience travels through generations. With themes of eating disorders, body image, nature vs nurture and our place in the socially prescriptive roles of gender, Hungry Creatures is a play about the cycles of pain, love and need that follow us from generation to generation. This piece speaks about eating disorders in a universal sense, about the way women have through the ages been asked to become smaller, how they have been taught to take up less space, to be graciously on the outskirts of the party, of their own lives.
Hungry Creatures is a deeply familiar piece about growing up, relationships, sexuality and how our personal ancestry affects the way we travel through life.
